We're ready for that warm weather glow!

Who cares if it's freezing and snow is still on the ground. It's time to start thinking about tanning! This isn't just wishful thinking. Spring break is coming! And warm weather will be here soon. We want that glow when we start wearing shorts, dresses and bathing suits!  We can all agree that laying out in the sun is a no go! It's ages your skin and put you at a higher risk for skin cancer. And who wants to wait?! We think professional spray tans can be awfully expensive! Luckily, there are some great self tanning products out on the market. Here are just a sampling of our favs!

Tarte is one of our favorite makeup brands. We love their makeup formula which strays away parabens and synthetic fragrances among other things. They are really bring us great cosmetics and their Brazillance self tanner is no exception. The gel formula is very moisturizing and transfers the self tanner to skin very well. And the mitt that comes with the product is really helpful and prevents streaking. And no one wants a streaky tan! If you have dry skin, this is a great product for you to try!

Origins has some of our favorite skincare products. They are very natural and moisturizing. We really love this brand! Their self tanner provides a beautiful color. If you're looking for a bronze, shimmery look to your skin, this is the product for you! It applies like a dream and provides a beautiful color. And it smells orange and peppermint. Yum!

Not all self tanners are creams and gels. They also come in a towelette variety. This guarantees easy application and they are great for travel! You'll get through security and you won't have to worry about spillage. That's another worry off your mind while traveling! These Dr. Dennis Gross tanning wipes are wonderful. Not only do they apply tanner, but they also minimize hair growth. That's really helpful during the summertime. These pads make your skin feel great while providing a beautiful tan.

We hope we have inspired you to self tan! Or maybe just try a new brand. Do you have a favorite self tanner? Let us know on our Twitter!

Fun in the sun!

We're ready for warm weather! We've got plenty of "warm-ups" but... We're still waiting! Today's OOTW is inspired by sunshine. Come on Mr. Sun! We're ready for you!!

Check out our Latex Ruffle Halter Dress! It's part of our Sophisticate Collection and we think it's a real peach of a dress! It's perfect for some fun in the sun!

The neckline is super sexy. You can really show off your beautiful tan. The halter style is perfect for the summertime. We think it gives this dress a fun, relaxed vibe.

And who wouldn't love the ruffle on the bottom of the skirt! We're all about those little details. Add in some pumps or peep toe heels and your look is complete!

Ruffles and a halter top? What is not to love? This one is an oldie but a goodie! Why not give it a go?

Make a statement!!

Want us to let you in on one of our favorite trends? Statement necklaces. They are popping up everywhere and the look is perfect for spring! We're seen them on celebs, in ads, on Pinterest boards and out in public. We're in love! We couldn't help but pair some of these beauties with our latex. It was just too tempting! Check out our combinations and see if anything catches your eye.

Baublebar is one of our favorite online stores for jewelry. They offer tons of beautiful, quality pieces of jewelry. Their Neon Alaqua Bib necklace is so unique! We love the interesting color combination. It's so bright and eye catching. We would pair this piece with our Candice dress.

We think the scooping sweetheart neckline of the Candice would compliment the necklace very well. It's going to allow to really showcase the necklace. What a fun summertime look! If you're searching for something to spice up your wardrobe, a statement necklace may be just the thing!

We love the variety of statement necklaces out there. Check out this piece by Zara. We love the color scheme. It's a really beautiful combination. We think it's a great pick if you are craving something different and a bit adventurous. This piece would compliment our Stella dress beautifully.

We like the classy, elegant look both pieces have. The plunging v-neck would match up very well with the large, statement necklace. We think it creates a really wonderful classic look.

This summer, statement jewelry is where it's at! It's a great way to add some variety to your look. It's a pretty bold trend but we know we're going to embrace it! Will you? Let us know what you think!

Something smells fishy...

We are craving spring! We're ready for the cold and dark days to go away. Bring on the flowers and sunshine! The weather is not listening to our demands... So some fun fishy patterns will have to hold us over for today. They are so much fun!

Are you saving a dress for the first day of spring weather? Something fun to break out when the weather is feeling fine. Here's a crazy idea... Trade the floral for fish! Yeah, we said fish! This dress is rocking a bold koi pattern. Be one with fish pond, become the fish pond! Hey, it's a little different and a whole lot of fun. Don't go crazy on the accessories. And a simple chain necklace and some flats. Keep it basic!

Maybe you want to keep it subtle. We can understand that! How about this? Sneak in that fishy look with this adorable clutch. Now that's a conversation piece! It brings in that fun nautical look. How would we style this piece? We would pair it with red and white. Maybe a dress with some stripes? The nautical look is the way to go! You are all ready for the seaside or maybe just a sushi date...

Earrings. You can never have too many pairs. Check this pair out! Fish can be formal too! We love the delicate look of these earrings. And the little emerald eyes? We can't get over these! Add them to any formal outfit. Keep things fun and light!

We hope that these fish have kept you properly distracted for the bitter cold. Give them a try! Have some fun as the warm weather rolls in.

Oh just loafing around...

While we weren't paying attention, loafers stole the shoe scene. And these aren't your grandmother's loafers! They are cute and perfect for your everyday look. We haven't convinced you? Hold tight. We have more!

Let's start with the basics. Nothing too crazy! Like this pair by Rebecca Minkoff. You have to admit, they are gorgeous! The heel and the sweeping lines. And we love the cutout. We would pair these with a bright pair of tights. You can really show of the color!

I've got my blue suede shoes! Seriously. Right here. Check out this pair! You think they are plain jane and then... BAM! Check out that fabric in the back. That is a super cool detail. You are going to want to wear these everyday. We don't even own a pair and we want to!

And looking towards spring, we think these are perfect! The coral and grey is the perfect color combo for spring. And the geometric pattern and cutout? We are in love. These are going to look great with shorts and sundresses. You are going to wear these over and over again in the warmer months. We're sure of it.

So get out there and go shoe shopping! You deserve it! Will you go with loafers? We sure hope so!

Let's warm things up!

Yes, we are already wishing for warmer weather. Groundhog day is a couple of weeks away and we're hoping he doesn't see his shadow.  We want to soak up the sun! And this week's outfit is perfect for that!

It's the Ashley dress from our Blue Skye Collection. We adore this little dress. The straps are very unique. We have very few dresses or tops with these thin, spaghetti straps. We like that they add a barely there effect. It allows the wearer to show off their beautiful shoulders and chest.

The body of this dress has a great fit. It shows off every single sassy curve you have to offer! It's fully tailored so, we're not joking about the fit of this dress! It will really fit like a glove.

And what about that ruffle? It's the very best way to end such a cute and flirty dress. And the trim adds an bit of extra detail. What's not to love? So, is this going to be your spring latex dress? We hope so!

The cold doesn't bother us anyway!

Brrrr! It's freezing outside! A polar vortex has swept through most of the U.S. It's like winter is punching us in the face. Well, you get the picture... More than half of the population is under a wind chill advisory. It's time to bundle up! We think a infinity scarf is just the thing. It's going to be the finishing touch to the layered marshmallow-like look you'll be sporting this week.

We like infinity scarves because well... they are easy. Putting them on is a snap! No need to wrap around or tie. Just put it over your head and you are set to head out the door. We have our eye on this one from Topshop. We'e big fans of the heathered, fleck pattern. It's a great way to put a twist on a basic. Such a beautiful scarf!

If you are going to be warm, why not look fabulous while doing it? That sounds like a win-win situation to us! Fur is fab in our book! Check out this fur infinity scarf by Ugg Australia. We think this will give you a really polished winter look. And the shearling will keep you toasty warm!

And you can't go wrong with a big chunky scarf. This has to be our favorite winter look. Check out this one! The golden color and the braided look? So perfect! The best thing about an infinity scarf? You can pull it up around your ears and face. Bring on the arctic wind! We have our armor!

Stay warm and safe out there! Think warm thoughts. Oh you know, white sand beaches and deserts. Spring will be here before we know it!

Focus on gold jewelry!

As we began to plan out our fall wardrobes, we're always looking for pieces that can work in every season. These timeless pieces can effortlessly transition season after season, year after year. Gold jewelry falls into this category. From bright colors in the summer, sweaters in the fall, neutrals in the winter and floral in the spring. Elle collected some great gold jewelry pieces and we'll share some of our favorites with you!

We're in love with this whimsical gold whistle necklace by J.Crew. It's so delicate and fun! This long necklace will work with so many outfits. Try it with a simple tank top for the summer or a button down top as we move into cooler weather. This is a piece you'll wear over and over again.

A simple pair of studs will really serve you well. They are so versatile. We love these gold, spherical asos stud earrings. The have a fun, vintage look to them. Their simple style makes them easy enough to wear with almost anything! We're talking sundresses to baggy sweaters. A simple pair of gold studs like these are a necessity!

We're swooning over this Giles and Brother skinny gold cuff. It's so sleek and delicate. It's going to look beautiful on your wrist. Wear it by on it's own or stack it with other brackets. It's great for casual summer outfits and semi formal fall evening looks. We don't think we can resist!

This Sarah Chloe heartbeat ring is just too cool! It's a great conversation piece. If you tend to lean towards unique, interesting jewelry, this one is for you. Rings are great for all seasons. They always add flair and fun to an outfit.

Gold jewelry is a must have for any season for us! What do you think? What's your favorite piece of gold jewelry? Share your thoughts with us!

Summer fun: DIY sunglasses!

Good Morning! How was your weekend? Ours was wonderful and inspiring! Today's blog is going to be a tad bit different... We're going a bit DIY on all of you. Keep reading for a fun project that's sure to bring you some joy and flair to your summer wardrobe!

Did you know that YouTube is a great place to turn to for fashion and beauty tips? We love to browse around and see all the creative videos that various "beauty gurus" upload. That's where we found this fun project!

Embellished sunglasses are something we see all the time, even on the runway! Lucky Magazine shared some of their favorites recently. We love them! They add an element of fun and whimsy to any outfit. Do you want the look but don't want to shell out big bucks for a pair? We have the perfect project for you!

Youtuber Stilababe09 shared this incredibly fun project! All you will need is a pair of sunglasses. This a great way to up cycle a pair you already own. Or pick up a cheap pair! This basic square shaped pair are only $5.80 from Forever21!

Then hit up your local craft store and pick out some small embellishments. Online stores also carry unique embellishments. We found these adorable resin roses on Etsy! Also, studs or rhinestones would be a great alternative if you're not a flower person.

And then you simply heat up your hot glue gun and go to town! Glue your embellishments on the top of the glasses! Or for a more subtle look, glue them on the arms of the glasses. They are your own creation! And just like that, you have a new pair of sunnies for spring and summer!

If you decide to take on this project, be sure to tweet us a picture with the hash tag "summerfunwithTLS"! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

The Barbie!

It's  finally time for our outfit of the week. Let's jump right into it!
It's the Barbie Dress! And it's perfect, just like Barbie. We love this short sleeved dress from our signature line.

The top of this dress is a t-shirt style with a scoop neckline. For a better view of the front of the Barbie Dress, take a peek under additional photos and colors on the product page. Under that tab, we also have several color options. We love the pink; it’s very Barbie!

The waistline is tight with a flare style skirt. How flirty and fun! And there is a zipper in the back for easy dressing purposes. We love this dress for the summertime. It's so fun, young and different. Maybe you'll want to consider this piece as a spring or summer staple piece.

We have some exciting news! We're running a spring sale on the site. Treat yourself this weekend to some latex sales! It won't be here long and you don't want to miss those awesome prices!

Simple Spring and Summer Beauty

As we transition into warmer temperatures, our beauty habits and trends change as well. For summer, we're thinking lighter, natural makeup. And we want our hair up and out the way. We want to be able to spend all day outside without having constant makeup and hair touch ups. Do you crave this fun, carefree look as much as we do? Don't you worry. We have a few tips for simple, summertime beauty.

We have been watching a recent beauty trend become extremely popular: BB creams. This product was only sold in East and Southeast Asia until a few years ago. Basically, it an all in one face product. It moisturizes, primes and covers your imperfections. And, most formulas contain SPF. Which is great for summertime. It's a quick way to get great, lightweight coverage and protection for the sun's harmful rays. Overall, it's supposed to improve the quality of your skin.

There is a lot of selection out there; from high end to drugstore. Elle just shared their top picks. Some of our favorites made the list! For high end, we love the Origins BB Cream with white tea. It's a great, all-natural formula. And it supposed to help prevent aging which is important when you're spending long days out in the sun.

If you are looking for a great drugstore alternative, Loreal's Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream also has a great formula. It "primes, perfects, hydrates and protects". And we can say, it does all four things! It's a really great product. Just set with some powder and you're ready to walk out the door!

Well, not quite yet! What are you going to do with that hair? We have a few ideas! Glamour shared their favorite spring up-dos. We love this tousled top knot that Jennifer Lawrence is sporting. It so simple to do! Check out this quick and simple tutorial that we found on sheknows.com. We will definitely be sporting this fun easy hairstyle all through spring and summer.

See? Carefree summer makeup and hair isn't too hard! It's easy! Why do you think they call in carefree? What do you think? Tweet us your thoughts and tips on simple summer beauty tricks and tips!

Jeepers Creepers! Protect your Peepers!

What's your favorite thing to wear in warm weather? Tank tops? Bathing suits? Sandals? We love all of those! But our favorite spring and summer accessory has to be sunglasses! They keep your peepers safe and come in so many shapes and colors. Today we are focusing on sunglasses!

We ran across several articles on sunglasses this weekend. Tis the season! Elle shared 45 sunglasses to update your look. We have to agree. Sometimes the perfect pair of sunglasses can complete change your look. Are you ready for a change this summer?

These Kate Spade glasses made our top 5. We love the big lenses. They are so fun and over sized. And the Tiffany blue color is great for both spring and summer. Or how about these two toned round sunglasses from Nasty Gal. They are definitely in our price range and quite unique! The gold and neon pink color combination is also something we suspect will be very popular this summer.

And of course, you can never go wrong with a classic, neutral pair of shades. We love these Jimmy Choo Cat-Eye Glasses. They remind us of Audrey Hepburn! They will easily transition from season to season... that is if you manage not to sit on them! Let's admit it! It happens to the best of us.

Vogue is also talking sunglasses. They had some really fun choices! We loved these Persol glasses from the Sunglasses Hut. The hardware on this pair is really unique as well as the shape. We might need a pair! These glasses from J.Crew are also fabulous! We love the retro, 50's feel they bring.

Don't you deserve a new pair of sunglasses? Your spring and summer shopping is never complete without a new pair...or two... or three!

April showers bring May flowers

You've heard it said before. April showers bring May flowers. And it's true! Spring means rainy days a plenty for most of us. But before you go splashing around in puddles, you'll want to make sure you have the right gear. Looking like a drowned rat is not in this season! So lets talk rainy day fashions.

A good raincoat is key. It's going to provide protection from the rain and save your cute outfit underneath! And there are tons of styles and colors out there. Elle recently posted on their favorite rainy day fashion.

One of favorites was this parka style coat by Michael Kors. If it's still chilly where you live, this style will really suite you. It protects you from both the rain and cold. And the blue is a great bright color, perfect for spring! It also has an almost military style feel that's really popular this season. It's a great basic jacket you can wear over and over again.

A trench coat is also a great option for rainy days. We love the classic old Hollywood feel they have. You'll feel like you're in Singing in the Rain! This one by Rhyme Los Angeles is great spin on the classic trench. We love the slouchy, comfortable look it has. We think it will work great for warmer days when a thicker, longer coat isn't needed.

We have covered jackets, now onto boots! You don't want to get your feet wet. We love the boots Elle choose. Our favorites were the Hunter original short gloss boots. This company is a classic. And their boots come in a variety of both  vibrant and neutral colors. We recommend wisteria for spring! It's a beautiful lilac purple that will really pop against those dreary rainy days.

We haven't forgotten the umbrella. For days that promise heavy rainfall, you won't want to be without one! Bubble umbrellas are very popular.
They provide even more protection from the rain. We adore the two that Elle shared! But, if you need to get one quickly, we've seen them at Target with different colored trim and handles.

We hope we have convinced you that rainy days are too bad. In fact, they can be fun and colorful! Rain, rain don't go away! We want you to stay and play!

Spring drugstore makeup!

Let's face it. Drugstore makeup is incredibly addicting! Who really can resist it? It's affordable and the brand are releasing some really great products. You can't go wrong! But it can be difficult to decide what to buy with all that selection. Well, we've done a bit of research and buying ourselves. Here's our spring guide to drugstore makeup!

It's finally time to switch from dark, vampy lip colors to vibrant pinks! We're pretty excited to make the transition. But before you pucker and up apply, it's important to give those lips some hydration! Cosmopolitan just shared their favorite cheap yet chic makeup products. The first thing on their list was the new Nivea kiss lip balm. These are excellent! The come in several flavors like caramel and raspberry. And for 4 dollars each? That's a drugstore steal!

Now onto color! Elle also shared their favorite drugstore makeup. They mentioned L'Oreal Colour Riche Le Balm. We love this lip color! There is a wide variety of colors to choose from. And the formula is wonderful. They are so creamy and have excellent color pay off. They certainly won't dry our your lips in the summer sun.

Bright colors aren't just for you lips! They are for your eyes too! NYX has some beautiful, bright shadows. Cosmo focused some of their neon colors. We think these colors are really going to make your eyes pop this spring and summer!

And we can't forget about bronzer and blush. We all want to look tan and shimmery when it's warm outside. We love the Physician Formula's shimmer stick custom highlighter and blush. Aren't those colors just beautiful? And how perfect would this be for traveling? There's no need to bring multiple blushes, highlighters and bronzers. You have it all here it one convenient palette!

We want to hear from you! What drugstore products are you loving right now? What should we try next?

No funny business here! Just prints and plenty of them!!

Happy April Fool's day! Now, don't you worry. There aren't any tricks here today! We're just bringing you a bit of spring fashion advice. Today we're talking prints!

Prints always seem to trend during the spring and early summer. But it seems they are especially trendy this year. And we are loving them too!

Just this weekend, we were looking at an article on Glamour. They were focusing on printed skirts and what looks best with your body type. Our favorites were this zig-zag skirt from Anne Klein. Oh and this more affordable pencil style skirt from Old Navy looks fun!

We recommend pairing a sheer blouse up top or even a solid colored t-shirt for a more casual look. Tuck the shirt in and add a skinny brown belt to emphasis your waistline. Either way, we think adding in some printed skirts into your everyday spring wardrobe will add some whimsy!

Cosmopolitan also shared some of their favorite printed clothing. We told you prints are in! Spring often presents some fun, semi formal events for all all to attend; bridal and baby showers and garden parties galore! We think this dress featured in the article from Piperlime would be perfect to wear! And tribal prints transition wonderfully into summertime.

Or maybe you already have the perfect outfit. Well, don't forget about accessories! Cosmo says printed scarves we one of the main features on the Dolce and Gabbana spring runway. Here's a fun tip! Hit up your local thrift or vintage shop for some fun patterned scarves of your own. Wear them as a headband, tie them around a ponytail or wear them around you neck. Scarves are just for the winter and fall!

Easter Sunday Style

Believe it or not, Easter is this Sunday. It feels like it was just Christmas! Don't get us wrong. We're excited for this holiday that marks the start of spring. It's the perfect time to show off your new spring dress, hat or pair of shoes. If you're still deciding on what to wear, we can help! Here's our take on Easter Sunday fashion.

When it comes to choosing what to wear, it's good to think cute but also modest. But that doesn't mean grandma style! Glamour magazine recently posted about Easter fashion. We loved all the pieces they showed us. Our favorite has to be the Kimchi blue Alabama dress from Urban Outfitters. It's a great loose-fitting shift dress. It's a great basic dress that is really easy to accessorize. This dress seems comfortable enough to wear all day long. Plus, it won't be completely impractical when you're dashing to and fro, searching for Easter eggs.

We also loved the pair of brocade pants from J.Crew. They have such a fun design and are a bit dressier. We think they would look great paired with a white button down peter pan colored blouse, a gold statement necklace and ballet flats. It's a great way to look dressy but also stay comfortable. And we are all about comfort!

We found another fun article on Vogue talking all about Easter hats. There are still some out there who go all out, sporting giant hats. But for those of us who aren't as daring, there are other choices! We loved the cloche hat. It's so retro and cute. And we find it to be festive and fun. If the one from Barneys isn't quite in your price range, we suggest Target! We just saw some adorable cloche styles hats in stock the other day.

We hope our little Easter style guide has inspired you! And we wish you a Happy Easter! May the Easter bunny leave you the biggest chocolate bunny of them all!

The early days of Spring: What to wear

We’re not really sure what to think of March. Here in Houston, TX, our warm days are beginning to out number the cooler ones. But, some states are still getting snow and ice. Yet our calendars tell us that today is the first day of spring and our clocks have sprung forward.

We were just reading an article on Vogue.com talking about this awkward time as the season change and what to wear.  We’re all growing tired of coats and scarves; and we are aching for sandals and sun hats.  We will get there soon enough! Soon we will be wishing for cooler weather.

Take this time to wear those favorite winter pieces you adore but add in some spring pieces your dying to wear out. Pop your new sleeveless, button-down blouse under one of your favorite sweaters. And if you dare, mix some new spring jewelry in where you can. And of course, sneak in some bright colors. We think bright tights and scarves could really mix up your boring winter ensembles.

If the weather is right, you can even start to incorporate some spring skirts. Recently, Elle shared their favorite 32 skirts for spring. We think this floral pencil skirt from Stella McCarthy is perfect. Or if you crave a different style, this A-line floral skirt from Top Shop is great too!  Both pieces can be worn with tights on colder days and without them when the weather is right. And the floral ties in that promise of spring right around the corner.

So, we dare you all start sporting spring fashion underneath your coats and jackets. And remember, spring is just around the corner.

Our favorite colors for warm weather

We're getting pretty tired of wintertime at the Latex Store. We're dreaming about summer days. We're most excited about the color! And that got us thinking about our favorite colors for spring and summer. Check this out!

Light blue! It's one of favorite shades of blues. It's vibrant but not too crazy. A great color for spring!

Vibrant pink is great for summer. This color looks amazing against tanned skin. You need something in this color! It really brightens things up.

This jade green is a new addition to the our colors. We love it! It's unusual and a really beautiful shade. We think it will look great all spring and summer long.

There a just a few of our favorites! If you are interested in all the colors we have to offer, check out The Latex Store color chart. We have so much to offer!

Put a stop to those winter blues!

Is anyone else dreaming about warm weather? Well, when we get a case of the winter blues, we like to think about our favorite latex outfits for spring and summer. Here is one of our favorites!
It's TheLatexStore.com ruffle halter dress! This cheery, yellow dress is already improving our disposition! This dress has a halter style neckline. We love that style for spring and summer!

Perhaps our favorite part of this dress is the adorable ruffle at the bottom. It's so fun and flirty!

This is the perfect dress for those warmer months because you will be showing a lot of skin. We think you'll have more fun that way! Add a cute pair of heels or wedges and you've got an adorable outfit!

We think it's pretty clear why our ruffle halter dress is one of our bestsellers! Still feeling blue? Why not order one of these for yourself! Turn up the heat, fix yourself a cold drink and pretend it's summer! Give winter the "cold shoulder" and don't let it get you down!
