Fun in the sun!

Summer is halfway over and we have yet to cover one of our favorite summer clothing items.... Sundresses! Oh, a good sundress really put a smile on our face. They are the perfect late summer clothing item. They are light and airy so you can keep cool in that August heat. And they are an easy option! You only need to pick out one clothing item. How easy is that!

Elle shared 18 summer sundresses to wear right now. We loved all of them but we're just going to share a few with you today. Let's jump on in! 

Wow! Check out the colors in this dress! We're in love with this Dolce and Gabbana sundress. The shape is so classic! This could easily be seen on any woman in the 50's or 60's. And the buttons are just precious. As far as styling, we would recommend a up-do. It's going to give more attention to the stripes and colors on the dress. Wear simple pearl earrings to continue the classic look the dress is bringing. Keep it simple and light! 

If you are fond of floral prints but a little bored by the same old same old, this Zara dress might be perfect for you! That's a whole lot of color!! But don't worry! You can pull it off! These colors are really going to pop against your tanned skin. And the simple shape is certain to flatter a variety of body types. Live it up before the summer is over! 

A bright colored sundress is a must have. Neutrals are great and all but nothing beats a pop of color! This Topshop dress certainly has that pop! It's a really beautiful shade of yellow. You're like a ray of sunshine! And the detail on the bodice adds a real soft, feminine look. Wear your hand down is loose, tossed curls. This is the perfect dress to wear as you soak in those last moments of summertime.

Punk and Edge!

We are really loving the edgier, punk style trend that seems to be taking over! Spikes, studs, acid wash and leather: we're all about all of it! After looking at the 36 pieces to channel your inner punk over on Elle.com, we were super inspired! You can mix up your regular and latex wardrobe with these pieces! Check out this cool vintage inspired t-shirt! We love the faded, distressed look it has. It really brings that 80's punk style. A shirt like this would look awesome paired with our mini skirt with zip front.

We think it's a great way to dress up a basic t-shirt. The grungy look shirt paired with the silver hardware on the mini skirt really gives you a cool edgy look. Is this something you would try?

Bralets are back in and we think they are so much fun! This one from Top Shop is just our style. The edgy embellishments and transparent cut outs are really different. We would pair this top with our flirt skirt.

This ensemble is a little more daring than the previous one! We think it would be really great for a summer concert! Or even just a fun night out. We're going to be more daring this summer. How about you? 

Leather jackets are way cool! They really take us back. This one from ASOS is really something special. We love the classic cut and all the silver hardware. What a great staple for your closet! we would wear this jacket with our Jasmine dress. 

We love the clash of this feminine dress with the punky, boyish jacket. It's a really hot look! Wear your hair down and rock a bold red lip!

The early days of Spring: What to wear

We’re not really sure what to think of March. Here in Houston, TX, our warm days are beginning to out number the cooler ones. But, some states are still getting snow and ice. Yet our calendars tell us that today is the first day of spring and our clocks have sprung forward.

We were just reading an article on Vogue.com talking about this awkward time as the season change and what to wear.  We’re all growing tired of coats and scarves; and we are aching for sandals and sun hats.  We will get there soon enough! Soon we will be wishing for cooler weather.

Take this time to wear those favorite winter pieces you adore but add in some spring pieces your dying to wear out. Pop your new sleeveless, button-down blouse under one of your favorite sweaters. And if you dare, mix some new spring jewelry in where you can. And of course, sneak in some bright colors. We think bright tights and scarves could really mix up your boring winter ensembles.

If the weather is right, you can even start to incorporate some spring skirts. Recently, Elle shared their favorite 32 skirts for spring. We think this floral pencil skirt from Stella McCarthy is perfect. Or if you crave a different style, this A-line floral skirt from Top Shop is great too!  Both pieces can be worn with tights on colder days and without them when the weather is right. And the floral ties in that promise of spring right around the corner.

So, we dare you all start sporting spring fashion underneath your coats and jackets. And remember, spring is just around the corner.
