Don't mind our flowery language...

Winter is coming. We know this Want to stray away from those winter neutrals? Or maybe you just want to mix something new in. We got the perfect thing! Floral! Yes. Floral in winter. Think we're crazy? Keep reading and you can be the judge!

A black dress can really serve you well any time of the year. Add a little something special and it's even better. We gave a tiny gasp when we saw this dress by Christopher Kane. Isn't it gorgeous? We love the scattered use of floral on this dress. And the colors really pop against the black of the dress. We think this is a great way to wear floral in the wintertime. Pair the floral print with a darker color.

If it's pretty chilly where you are, pants are a must. Skirts and dresses might not be warm enough. Not to worry! Check out these floral pants! A little wild but pretty neat, right? And they are this great corduroy texture. That means warmth! Pair them with a solid color navy, cream or black blouse. You have the prefect lunch date outfit!

Mix up your regular work wear. Add in a floral top to make you outfit really pop out! We like this one. The print is so interesting. It's not your typical floral pattern. And it will pair nicely with your own dress pants or skirt. Such a polished look!

We hope we have inspired your winter wardrobe. Let us know what you think!

Simplify.

Holiday time. It's a whole lot of crazy. So what are we craving? Simplicity. We don't want all this fuss. We want to be able to get up and out of the house without it being a huge production.

Well, there are a few things that can help. Just take it step by step. And the first? A great tote bag. A decent size bag that will hold everything you need for work, running errands and even squeezing a few minutes in at the gym. One bag that's works for many different elements of your life. And cute too! Check out some of our favorites.

We love a good Michael Kors bag. So classic and smart looking. He does totes too! Just look at this one. What a gorgeous bag! We love the shape of this tote. And we have no doubt it will hold everything you'll need. Just throw your lunch in on your way out the door and you're ready for the day!

Maybe simplicity for you is a smaller bag. Not a problem! Check out this smaller, structured tote. It's a little bit more manageable and more portable. If you don't need to tote as many things around, this might be the bag for you! We think this is a great work bag!

Maybe you are longing for a pop of color? We have a tote for that too! Check out this bright red bag by Rebecca Minkoff. Gorgeous! We love the box bottom on this bag. It makes it easier to find things when you set it down. It gives a great amount of structure to this bag. What a beauty!

Are we saying a tote bag is the answer to all your problems? Not at all! But it can be a step in the right direction. And well,  who doesn't want a new handbag?

Don't get left in the cold!

If you have been listening to the news lately, you might be aware that Buffalo, New York currently has 6 feet of snow on the ground. That's crazy! And there is more on the way! If any of our readers here are in the thick of all that, we wish you luck. Oh, just thinking about it gets us shivering. Shall we huddle here on the blog and try to keep warm?

Teddy bear coats are in! We know what you are thinking.... But that's not quite right. We promise this isn't some practical joke or something.
This is what we mean! We're talking huge, furry coats to keep you extra warm and chic. A few stars, like Kim Kardashian and Alexa Chung, have been sporting them all last winter. And they are making a comeback this year. You could say we are a little excited...

I mean, who can resist something like this coat by Carven. It's a real beauty. You can tell how soft it is just by looking at it! Excellent quality means years and years of use. It's going to be perfect for the harsh winter that is quickly approaching.

And the toggles? Such a great touch. Add in your own winter accessories. It will look great over daytime and nighttime looks alike.

And they come in plenty of colors other than brown. No need to stick to those typical teddy bear colors. Like this grey coat by Asos.

We love that beautiful, huge collar. It really make a statement.  And those buttons are cool too! We have found this style in white and bold colors too! This look can really be tailored to your style.

Don't be left in the cold! It's time to get cozy. Show winter who the boss is around here!

Mod Monday

Oh hello! We're just stopping by to brighten up your Monday! We think this might do the trick...

It's the Lisa dress from our Blue Skye Collection. What a fun and revealing dress with a retro vibe!  It's perfect for anyone seeking something a little bit more unique or different.

The high collar has a really look to it. It really pairs well with the bell shape front cutout. Combined with the tank style, this dress looks like something a go go dancer would wear. So reminiscent of the past yet fresh and exciting! You'll look anything but old fashioned!

We're in love with the lacing. It really adds something special. And the detail on the neck? So great! If you are looking for the opposite of basic, you'll find it in this dress. This is a two tone dress. That means you can choose both the color of dress and the details. Make the Lisa your own creation!

That's all for today! And remember to stop by the blog every Monday for an outfit of the week!

Food based skin and hair care!

Expensive body care products getting you down? Nothing left in your budget for pricey facial care products? How frustrating! You can really rack up a huge tab in the body care aisle and half of the products you try don't even work!

We have a solution. Head on over to the grocery store or even your pantry! That's right. Some of the food we eat can benefit our bodies in other ways. And honestly, they work better than any old lotion or potion. It's time to get back to nature.

We love to use coconut oil for cooking purposes. It's a healthy alternative to the other products on the market. Did you know it also makes a wonderful moisturizer. No kidding! It's a bit greasy going on but one it sinks it, you skin is left incredibly soft. You can even use it as a facial moisturizer! It also can be used in the hair. Apply to the bottom portion of your hair, let it sit for 2-3 minutes and rinse. You are left with moist, frizz-free locks. Make sure you use pure, organic coconut oil for the best results.

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. You better believe it! The apple is a powerful fruit. One of its most beneficial forms is raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar. This can be found in the natural section of your grocery store. It makes a delicious salad dressing. But it can also be used as a toner. Add some water and apply with a cotton ball. It naturally balances your skin's PH levels. It can also be combined with water and used a rinse in your hair. It will  naturally remove product buildup and leave you with soft locks.

Are you already suffering from the dry, itchy skin you get during cold weather? We sure were until we discovered this simple secret. Run a hot bath and add in few cups of milk! You heard that right. Lactic acid is a natural skin softener. It works like a dream. Follow up with a a bit of exfoliation and a moisturizer. You'll be ready to face the dry winter wind in no time.

Do not underestimate the power of your pantry. It has so much to offer! What is your favorite beauty product from the kitchen? Honey? Maybe oatmeal? Share your secrets with us!

Menswear for the ladies

What is one of our favorite fall trends, you ask? Menswear for women. Can you go wrong? We think not! We love the blend of both masculine and feminine aspects to create this classy look. We love to incorporate patterns like herringbone and looks like vests and jackets into an everyday look for work or play. Lets get started!

Wow! This Lanvin dress is a perfect mash up of both men's and women's fashion. The sharp, crisp lines are rather masculine. They mock the look of a suit jacket. And the pattern is seen in both men's and women's fashion. But the waist accent and top of the dress are very feminine. What a great dress for work or a semi formal event. Try adding very feminine accents like pearls or a pop of bright color to make a real statement.

Menswear isn't all suits and plaid. The casual side of menswear also works for women. This Alexander Wang sweater is a perfect example of that. It has an oversized, very casual look to it. It's perfect for casual Saturdays. Pair it with leggings to complete the comfortable look. Wear your hair in curls and accessorize!

Shorts?! In fall and winter? Yes! We love this look! Pair a super tailored pair of shorts like this pair by Sandro Poupee with a peter pan collared button up shirt. Wear a pair of tights underneath the shorts to make it more fall appropriate. Wear your hair up in a top knot and accessorize with a headband. What a fun look for running errands or going to lunch with friends!

Winter is coming

Temperatures are dropping! Winter may be a ways away but it is certainly cold out there. Bundling up is a must. Don't be a fool! We're sharing some of our favorite bulky scarves with you today. Maybe one will make it in to your winter ensemble?

Ah. Doesn't that look cozy? We love this scarf by Need Supply. The varying shades of grey are very pleasing to our eyes. And it will pair with many different coats and outfits. A winter staple for sure. Try pairing it with a cream colored winter hat.

This scarf has a different sort of style to it. And we are huge fans! You can find this tassle scarf at Urban Outfitters. The mix of blues is just gorgeous. This piece will go with more specific colors and looks. Try pairing it with black, grey and even yellow. Either way, it's a whole lot of fun!

Now this is more like it! A big, chunky knit scarf. You cannot face cold weather without one. We are truly in love with this Paula Bianco two tone scarf. It's basic and will fit in with almost every coat or jacket. And the little tassles? What a great touch!

Hey Jack Frost? Yeah, go ahead and bring it on! We're ready for you!

Shiny!

Welcome back! We had a great weekend in Chicago at International Mr. Leather. And can you believe it?  It's already time for the outfit of the week!

Check out the Yvonne Dress. It's a great basic tank dress. It's got a classic look to it. It has a great, deep neckline. It has a simple and basic look to it.

Turn to the back and you'll see just how sporty it is! It has that great Y or racer back style to it. Isn't it neat? This dress certainly has that athletic look. It's great for those of you who don't want that frilly look!

We love that seamless look of latex. We don't like to break up the shiny latex look with a zipper. But we can't not have a zipper. That would be impossible! So we hid it on the side of the Yvonne.

This dress is available in tons of colors. So many options! And don't forget about our made to measure option. We'll make a custom dress for you. Pretty exciting, right? It's the perfect basic dress! You know you want some new shiny stuff! The Yvonne is calling your name!
